Geography

Learning Outcomes

This one semester social science course will provide students with the opportunity to explore the relationship between living things and their environment.  The course will focus on physical, cultural and historical geography and its relation to modern world problems.  By following six major themes, students will gain an understanding and appreciation of the world in which they live.  The themes include:  Definitions and uses of Geography, The World in Spatial terms, Physical Systems, Environment and Society, Human Systems, and Places and Regions. 

Students will explore in geographic terms not only current world events but also happenings in their own lives.  Through this course, students will gain an appreciation and knowledge of the world in which they live and an understanding of their responsibility as a member of the global community.
