The Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) Accrediting Commission for Schools accredited National University Virtual High School (NUVHS) on May 8, 2007.
Since beginning the accreditation process in 2004, the NUVHS team completed a self-study to demonstrate the school's compliance with the WASC criteria, as well as to show evidence of a focus on student achievement and continuous improvement.
The school welcomed a WASC visiting committee for its accreditation review on March 11-13, 2007. The NUVHS self-study and resultant action plan were evaluated by the WASC Accrediting Commission for Schools and accreditation was awarded on May 8, 2007.

NUVHS is also accredited with the Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation (CITA), an alliance of the largest American accrediting associations, including WASC. CITA provides customized accreditation protocols and standards for schools that cross USA regions and for national and international schools around the world.
