To take full advantage of the interactivity of the courses, the following minimum system profiles are REQUIRED:

64MB RAM (128 recommended)
28.8 kbps modem (56K or better recommended)

Internet Requirements

Students will need reliable Internet access to take online courses. NUVHS recommends a connection speed of at least 56kbps.

Email account

All students will need an email address to register for online courses. Free accounts can be established at Yahoo and Hotmail. Special characters can cause problems with some systems that make it difficult to reach the intended mailbox. NUVHS suggests that users avoid special characters (for example +, &, $, etc.) in email addresses.

NUVHS online courses may include the use of interactive software called iLinc, which allows students and instructors to engage in real-time, online vocal and video communication. Traditional speakers and a microphone will work with iLinc; however, NUVHS highly recommends using a headset when using iLinc to communicate in the online class.
