"E-learning is an essential and inevitable part of tomorrow's 'classroom'.  Online instruction not only hones computer literacy, critical thinking skills and future job marketability for students, it provides a unique one-to-one interaction with the instructor and peers from diverse cultural backgrounds that is very difficult to achieve in the traditional classroom.  I personally believe that virtual learning and online instruction offers one of the greatest contributions to humanity by leveling the playing field for many."

Education

Hawa earned a bachelor's degree in political science with a minor in biology from the University of North Florida in 1995.  She went on to earn a master's degree in humanities and social thought, with a concentration in liberal studies, global and international relations from New York University.  She holds a California teaching credential in social science and a supplementary credential in computer concepts and applications for instruction.

Hawa has been in the field of education for more than six years.  She developed and administered the Hart district's first online American government course for use across the district and is currently a social science instructor and course developer for NUVHS, UCCP, UCOA, and CAVA.  Passionate about education, she strives to teach the full spectrum of traditional and online courses.

Hawa joined the NUVHS adjunct faculty team in 2004.
