"The opportunity to engage in online coursework affords the student possibilities that are not available in a regular classroom.  Courses that may not be available to students in a regular setting become available online.  Students learn to take charge of their education when faced with the responsibility of sticking to a timeline required to complete their online work.  And taking courses online gives students practical, hands-on opportunities to further their technological skills and aptitudes.  Online learning adds another dimension to the academic career of the student."

Education

MK McGee earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics from Doane College in Crete, Nebraska.  She began her teaching career at Gretna High School in Gretna, Nebraska, teaching secondary mathematics.  During that time, MK earned a master's degree in education from Doane College.  After six year at Gretna, she moved on to post-secondary education, teaching mathematics and educational technology courses at various institutions.  She recently earned a second master's degree in mathematics.

On a personal note, MK enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter.  She appreciates the opportunity to teach while staying home with her daughter.  During her limited free time, she likes to read about politics.

MK has been teaching with NUVHS since September of 2004.
