"Online education creates a more personal learning experience.  It encourages students to use a variety of tools to master information in a more in-depth and applied manner than in a traditional classroom.  Students have an opportunity to explore ideas and synthesize information on their own and with other classmates.  Best of all, much of online education is often asynchronous and allows students to work at their own pace at a time and place that works best for the them."

Education

Amber Schnaider earned a master's degree in education from the University of California, San Diego, and holds a CA single subject credential with authorizations for mathematics and physics.  She has taught physics, pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, and intermediate algebra.  She has also taught additional courses to prepare students for the California High School Exit Exam.

In addition to developing courses for the classroom, she has experience in designing standards-based lesson plans and training teachers through educational outreach organizations such as Imaginary Lines, Inc, San Diego Aircraft Carrier Museum, and K12 Alliance. She loves using the Internet as a means for instruction and student collaboration and she expects to see online instruction continue to grow as more people learn to use it as an educational tool.

Amber joined the NUVHS faculty team in the spring term of 2007.
