Academic & Study Skills
A dictionary, thesaurus, atlas, and calculator are just a few of the many resources students should have readily available to promote academic success.
NUVHS encourages students to develop strong study skill habits and accumulate a wide variety of resources to assist them in meeting their educational goals.
Have you ever taken a learning styles assessment? If not, click here to check out the VARK guide to learning styles. Understanding the ways you learn best will help you to study class material and complete assignments more effectively—which should lead to improved test scores and higher grades.
NUVHS students have full access to National University's Writing and Math Centers. The Writing Center offers individual tutoring sessions online, by phone, or at a National University academic center. For a complete list of academic centers which offer on-site tutoring please visit the sites for the National University Writing Center and Math Center on the right hand side of this page. These sites also include additional resources, including how to schedule an appointment.
Additional links to the right of this page are helpful in preparing for exams, managing your time and succeeding in online courses.
If you know of a great study skills site you would like to submit to us for inclusion on this page, please feel free to contact us at info@nuvhs.org.
