National University, an affiliate of NUVHS, was founded by retired U.S. Navy Captain David Chigos and is a military-friendly, Yellow Ribbon school. At NUVHS, we carry that same commitment to our servicemembers and their families.
We understand the relocation challenges that come with being in a military family, especially for high school students. Frequently changing schools could cause your child to lose credits and fall behind, or be too advanced for their next school. This is where NUVHS comes in.
We offer classes 100% online available 24/7 – including AP®, UC a-g, NCAA, and NAIA approved classes. Your child can log in from anywhere in the world and from any time zone. Although students are working independently, they still have plenty of opportunities to collaborate with their peers and communicate with their teachers via email, live chat, or phone.
As an ACS WASC accredited school, students can enroll full time or part time and may be able to transfer credits back to their home school if they have one.
As a bonus, active-duty military families receive a 10% tuition scholarship. That’s just our way to giving back to those who give so much for our country.
Although you might not know where your military career may take you, your child can feel confident that he or she is receiving a quality high school education and preparing for his or her own bright future.
