High school students are under more pressure than ever these days to maintain a competitive edge for college – that’s where NUVHS comes in.
Students can take supplemental college-prep, AP®, NCAA, NAIA, and UC (a-g) approved courses 100% online to improve their GPA or get ahead for college. Courses are rigorous; however, students can log in from anywhere and at any time, completing courses at their own pace. Credits are also typically transferrable – just confirm credit transfer acceptance rules with the student’s home school.
NUVHS is ACS, WASC, and AdvancED accredited. Courses are led by highly qualified instructors and class sizes are kept small, so students receive the personalized support needed to succeed. Students will collaborate online with other students who are equally disciplined and academically motivated.
NUVHS offers three traditional academic terms, with the summer term in session from April 22, 2019 to August 25, 2019. Summer term enrollment deadlines are:
To be eligible for a final course grade, students must be regularly working in the course for a minimum of eight weeks in all AP® courses and a minimum of four weeks in all college-prep courses.
Tuition rates and fees are as follows:
* Yearlong courses identified with "A & B" indicators consist of two separate semester long courses, each requiring a separate enrollment and tuition fee.
Course Textbooks: Please refer to the NUVHS Textbook List to determine if your course requires the purchase (or rental) of a traditional hard copy textbook. Students are responsible for costs associated with course required textbooks.
Materials Fee: $60/course (Please refer to the current NUVHS Course Approval Chart for specific courses.)
For all NUVHS students, there is a non-refundable admissions application fee of $60.
NOTE: A full year course consists of two separate semester courses. Depending on how much time is spent in the first semester (section A) would determine if there is still enough time to add and complete second semester (section B) during the same term. Ultimately, it’s the student’s responsibility to time manage themselves, to allow enough time to complete the course requirements and coursework for each semester course. Please note that no matter if you choose to do one or two semester courses during the same term, the end date of that term remains the same. All Grade Eligibility Agreement requirements are to be met by the end each semester course. Students have the option to split the two semester courses over separate terms available.
