Counseling Services
High school is a difficult time for many students. Between forming romantic relationships, making new friends, working a part-time job, pressures to drink and do drugs, you also have to study for tests, pass your Advanced Placement (AP) exams, and participate in extracurricular activities! You may have to deal with parents, teachers, dating, body image, getting into the right college, not to mention helping your friends with their problems!
No one has all the right answers, but NUVHS has found some websites that contain information from experts in the field and teens who may have been through similar experiences. Please visit the links we have provided on the right hand side of this page for more information.
Part-time NUVHS students are also advised to check with the counseling office at their primary high school since many resources and forms of support can be provided onsite. Full-time NUVHS students can contact the NUVHS offices at 1-866-366-8847 if they have questions or need help dealing with these difficult issues.
If you are considering suicide or know someone who is, please call 911, your local suicide hotline, or the Kristin Brooks Hope Center Suicide hotline at 1.800.SUICIDE (1.800.784.2433).
